The goal of the wetland group is to evaluate three sites that are either existing wetland, restored wetland, and one soon to be restored wetland. People have been ruining or destroying the Oregon coast wetlands for decades and the community has been trying to restore the wetlands to what they were when Lewis and Clark first explored this land. There has been species extinction and also invasive plants that have been brought here from foreign places. We sample, sort and trap the fish, amphibians, and plants to see how the wetlands have evolved since Lewis and Clark.

We use teamwork and individual work stratagies to collect and process data. We are learning how to work as a team with new people. In the Wetlands, we plan on learning how to set fish traps and process what the fish count, size, and diversity of our catch. While birding we are learning how to decipher bird calls and track what type of birds we hear or see.

Lee found a caterpiller.                                    Be careful, it's a Nettle? Poisonous!       A trail we often use.                    Part of a beautiful wetland.
